An honest explanation of when pier systems are needed, what they cost, and how soil conditions in your area affect the answer.

Pool piers are concrete structural supports driven into stable soil below the expansive clay layer. They provide a stable foundation for the pool structure when surface soil conditions are too variable to support the pool reliably on their own.
Whether your pool project requires piers depends on site-specific soil testing — not on general area assumptions. Many North Texas lots don't require piers. Others do. The only way to know is to test.
This is educational information only — soil and structural decisions for pool construction require licensed engineering assessment. Mike works with structural engineers on every Sapphire project that requires it.
